Pōkeno Slope Revegetation Following Slip Related Ground Exposure
After a major slip exposed a clay-rich bank in Pōkeno, Vista Environmental Landcare completed a hydraulic revegetation treatment as part of the site’s recovery process. The project focused on applying a tailored treatment across the exposed ground following the relevant remedial work.
The site challenge
A slip or exposed bank should not be treated like a standard flat lawn. The site condition, slope, drainage, remediation status and any existing erosion-control measures need to be considered before a revegetation approach is selected.
What Vista completed
The project record describes:
- Application of a hydroseeding and soil-media treatment to exposed clay-rich subsoil;
- An erosion-control mulch matrix across the treatment area; and
- A mixed seed application as part of the revegetation scope.
This case study shows how a hydraulic surface treatment can form part of a broader recovery plan. It does not claim to replace engineering advice, structural remediation or site-specific erosion-control design.
Discuss a slope or exposed-bank project
If you have a cut face, slip area, batter or post-earthworks surface, send through the project plans, slope details, photos and current site status. We will review whether hydromulching, Biotic Soil Media or hydroseeding may be suitable within the wider plan.
