Residential Slope Revegetation
Hydroseeding, Biotic Soil Media & Erosion Control
Revegetation of a Residential Slope Following Landslip Repairs
Following a landslip at a residential property on Auckland’s North Shore, Vista Environmental Landcare carried out a specialist revegetation treatment over a steep, exposed slope. With structural repairs already completed using soil nails and erosion-control matting, the project focused on restoring a suitable growing medium and establishing vegetation across the affected ground.
The site challenge
The landslip had stripped away the nutrient-rich topsoil, leaving exposed subsoil with limited conditions for vegetation growth. Although structural remediation had secured the deeper ground, the surface still required a tailored revegetation approach.
The existing erosion-control matting and steep terrain called for a hydraulic application capable of reaching the exposed soil without relying on conventional topsoil placement.
What Vista completed
- Assessed the exposed slope following structural landslip remediation.
- Prepared a specialised hydroseeding treatment using ProGanics™ Biotic Soil Media as a topsoil alternative.
- Combined seed and organic materials into a tailored hydraulic application.
- Applied the mixture over the existing erosion-control matting using specialist equipment.
- Delivered a surface revegetation treatment designed to support seed germination and vegetation establishment.
The treatment formed part of the wider slope-recovery programme, complementing the existing soil nails and erosion-control matting.
Need Revegetation or Erosion Control for a Steep Slope?
Dealing with exposed ground after a landslip, earthworks or structural repairs? Vista Environmental Landcare can assess your site conditions and recommend a suitable hydroseeding, hydromulching or Biotic Soil Media treatment.
