Drainage Reinstatement, Ground Preparation & Hydroseeding
Residential Lawn Restoration Following Drainage Improvements
Following the installation of a subsoil drainage system, Vista Environmental Landcare completed lawn restoration works at a Meadowlands residential property. The project involved reinstating disturbed ground, preparing a suitable growing surface and applying hydroseeding across the affected lawn areas.
The site challenge
Heavy surface water retention and clay soil conditions required drainage improvements before lawn restoration could begin. Excavation and machinery had disturbed and compacted the ground, making trench backfilling, grading and fresh topsoil placement essential preparation steps before hydroseeding.
What Vista completed
- Backfilling trenches following subsoil drainage installation.
- Regrading the surface to direct runoff towards the new catch basins.
- Placing fresh topsoil over disturbed and compacted ground.
- Applying a tailored ryegrass and fine fescue hydroseeding mixture with starter fertiliser, wood-fibre mulch and tackifier.
- Providing a customised watering plan for the lawn establishment period.
The project record reports initial green emergence within 5–7 days and dense turf development within 3–4 weeks. These results should be confirmed before publication.
