Vista Environmental Landcare completed a comprehensive lawn hydroseeding project at a large lifestyle property in Karaka, South Auckland.

The work involved distributing and levelling soil across an expansive area, preparing a consistent seedbed and applying a tailored Ryegrass and Fescue hydroseeding treatment.

The project was designed to create a smooth, attractive lawn that complements the property’s driveways, outdoor living areas and wider rural landscape.

The site challenge

The property’s large footprint presented challenges with uneven ground, low spots and exposed subsoil.

Achieving a consistent lawn surface required bulk soil distribution, precision levelling and careful preparation around driveways and outdoor living areas. The seedbed also needed a firm, finely textured finish to support seed-to-soil contact, moisture retention and an even hydroseeding application.

What Vista completed

Distributed bulk soil across the extensive lawn area to cover exposed subsoil and fill low spots.
Levelled and graded the ground to create smooth transitions around driveways and outdoor living areas.
Cultivated the seedbed and used a box blade to remove surface undulations.
Lightly rolled the prepared soil to establish a firm, finely textured surface.
Prepared a tailored hydroseeding mixture containing Perennial Ryegrass and Fine/Tall Fescue.
Hydraulically applied the seed blend across the prepared ground to support consistent lawn establishment.

The completed work provided a prepared, hydroseeded foundation for a durable, attractive lawn suited to the property’s rural lifestyle setting.
