Poolside Lawn Restoration at a Taupaki Lifestyle Property
Vista Environmental Landcare completed a large-scale residential hydroseeding project at a lifestyle property in Taupaki, West Auckland.
Following the installation of a swimming pool and associated ground preparation, the surrounding landscape required lawn reinstatement across extensive open areas, poolside surrounds and disturbed ground.
A specialised hydroseeding treatment was applied to help protect exposed soil and create consistent grass coverage that integrates the new pool area with the property’s wider landscape.
The site challenge
The swimming pool installation had left areas of exposed topsoil, clay subsoil and disturbed ground requiring surface protection and revegetation.
The site included both expansive flat lawn areas and sloped excavation batters, creating different conditions for grass establishment.
The hydroseeding treatment needed to provide consistent coverage while helping retain moisture, manage surface dust and reduce the risk of soil erosion during the early establishment period.
What Vista completed
- Completed the hydroseeding stage following swimming pool installation and ground preparation.
- Prepared a heavy-duty hydraulic slurry containing premium turf seed, wood-fibre mulch, organic tackifiers and balanced starter nutrients.
- Applied the mixture across the property’s extensive lawn areas and poolside surrounds.
- Treated exposed topsoil and clay surfaces, including sloped excavation batters.
- Established a protective mulch and seed layer to support moisture retention and reduce surface soil movement.
- Achieved uniform hydroseeding coverage across the designated areas, reconnecting the pool landscape with the surrounding lifestyle property.
At the time described in the project brief, the site had entered the establishment phase. Initial germination was expected within 7–10 days, with denser lawn coverage anticipated over approximately 3–5 weeks.
