Restoring Marina View School's Sports Field Following Construction

Following the construction of new classrooms at Marina View School, Vista Environmental Landcare completed a comprehensive restoration of the sports field and surrounding grounds. The project included clearing construction debris, improving compacted soil, placing fresh topsoil and applying specialist hydroseeding to re-establish grass across the affected areas.

The site challenge

Heavy construction machinery had left sections of the sports field compacted, uneven and bare. Before new turf could be established, the ground required debris removal, soil decompaction and grading.

The challenge was to prepare a suitable growing surface for a high-use school environment while integrating the restored field and surrounding landscape with the newly constructed classrooms.

What Vista completed

Cleared construction debris and unsuitable subsoil from the affected grounds.
Carried out deep ripping and aeration to relieve soil compaction.
Imported, spread and graded topsoil across the sports field and perimeter.
Applied a tailored sports turf hydroseeding blend containing seed, mulch, fertiliser and tackifier.
Managed an irrigation and establishment programme, including watering, weed monitoring and initial mowing.
